Services Won Santosh Trophy Football Tournament

- Services won Santosh Trophy Football Tournament title with a 1-0 victory over Punjab at the Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana.
- The Services football team represents the Indian defense services in the Santosh Trophy.
- With this victory, Services has ended the campaign without losing a single match.
RBI Passed NHB and NABARD to the Central Government
- Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has divested its entire stake in National Housing Bank (NHB) and National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to the central government.
- This was based on the recommendations of the second Narasimham Committee report and a discussion paper prepared by RBI. The Narasimham panel had said RBI could not own those entities which are regulated by it.
- RBI had 100 percent stake in NHB and 72.5 percent stake in NABARD originally which it has divested to the Central Govt in two phases. With this, the government of India now holds 100% stake in both the financial institutions.
National Panchayati Raj Day (NPRD) Observed on 24th April

- National Panchayati Raj Diwas (NPRD) is observed annually on 24th April in India which is anchored by Ministry of Panchayati Raj to mark a defining moment in the history of decentralization of political power to the grassroots level.
- The first National Panchayati Raj Day was celebrated on 24th April 2010 and it was declared by the former Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh.
- The Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992 that came into force on 24th April 1993 has vested constitutional status on Panchayati Raj institutions.
