QUAD (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue) held at Bangkok

The fourth Quadrilateral Security Dialogue (QUAD) meeting was recently held in Bangkok, Thailand.
It is an informal strategic dialogue between the group of four countries– the United States, India, Japan, and Australia. It was attended by senior officials of QUAD member countries.
Countries held a consultation on their collaborative efforts to advance a “free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific region”, maritime security and good governance and also discussed the initiatives taken by each country to encourage transparent, principles-based investment in quality infrastructure.
Meeting participants assured their support for ASEAN centrality and ASEAN-led regional architecture.
The grouping is seen by many as a counter to China’s increasing economic and military might.

Rafael Nadal and Ashleigh Barty won French Open 2019

Not even a spirited challenge by the world No 4, Dominic Thiem, could stop the 33-year-old Spaniard Nadal (Spain) winning the French Open for a 12th time.
Nadal is the only player to win a dozen grand slam titles on the same court. Nadal moves to 18 majors, two behind Federer, three ahead of Djokovic.
Ashleigh Barty ended Australia’s 46-year wait for a French Opensingles title. The 23-year-old will rise to second in the world behind only Naomi Osaka when the latest rankings are released next week.

Lewis Hamilton won 2019 Canadian Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) of United Kingdom won 2019 Canadian Grand Prix held in in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc of Ferrari won the second and third position respectively.
